Remembering Jeff Schaum – Celebration of Life & League Updates

Dear League Members,

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share the passing of our beloved Co-Director, Jeff Schaum. Jeff was a pillar of our league, a dedicated leader, a talented player, and a cherished friend to so many.

Last Thursday, Jeff arrived to play pool but wasn’t feeling well and chose to leave early. Despite the encouragement of friends to seek medical attention, he ultimately passed away later that night. This loss is truly heartbreaking, and my deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

Jeff’s wisdom, strength, and organization were instrumental in shaping this league into what it is today. Beyond just our league, he was a staple of pool in the Long Beach area for many years. His absence will be profoundly felt.

Upcoming Plans

• League Play: We will continue playing this Thursday, and I encourage everyone to keep Jeff in their thoughts as we do.

• Celebration of Life: On Thursday, March 27th, at 7 PM, we will gather to honor Jeff’s memory. Location TBD. There will be no league play that evening, and schedules will be adjusted accordingly. If you have photos of Jeff, please share them with me—we’d love to fill the room with cherished memories. If anyone can help organize, print, or frame pictures, please let me know.

Additional Notes

• League Dues: If you recently paid dues to Jeff, please contact me to confirm the amount, as his records were updated through the previous week. Moving forward, please send payments to me via Zelle at 503-341-5409.

• Family Contact: If anyone has a connection to Jeff’s family, please ask them to reach out to me—I would love to invite them to the celebration of life.

• League Funds: Jeff had some league dues in an account. The amount was not significant since we were at the start of the season. As a league, we may consider donating those funds to his family. Please let me know your thoughts.

Jeff’s passing is a tremendous loss, but let’s come together as a league to honor his memory. Thank you all for your support during this difficult time.
